This course examines questions of gender, sexuality, embodiment, and power in the Hebrew Bible. The book of Judges is used as the case study through which to explore these epistemological and methodological questions. While there are courses at TST that deal with "women in the Bible," this course looks deeply at theories of gender and sexuality (both ancient and contemporary) in order to explore avenues of interpretation of biblical texts. |
