Eser Kim is a practical theologian whose teaching and research explore the intersections of human development, faith formation, identity, and lived religious experience. Her scholarship focuses on youth agency, cultural hybridity, and the formation of personal and professional identity, with particular attention to intercultural contexts and theological education. She is committed to integrative approaches to theological education that engage the complexities of human experience across cultures and stages of life. Her teaching includes human development, psychotherapy and spiritual care, and cross-cultural perspectives on suffering, death, and dying.
An ordained pastor, Kim has served in various ministerial and leadership roles, including youth ministry, international relations, and English-language ministry and education.
