Emmanuel College Opens Canada's First Buddhist Spiritual Care Centre
Canada's first centre for Buddhist spiritual care and counseling has opened at Emmanuel College, creating a new hub for research, education and professional training.
Emmanuel College celebrated the launch of the Tung Lin Kok Yuen Canada Society Research and Education Centre for Buddhist Spiritual Care and Counseling on September 18, 2026, with scholars, Buddhist leaders, students and community partners from across Canada and beyond.
Funding from the Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society created both the centre and a dedicated space for its work at Victoria University.
