Appointment: Igor Kaplan Postdoctoral Fellow in Christian-Jewish Relations, Dr. Shlomo Zuckier

The Toronto School of Theology (TST) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Shlomo Zuckier as the Igor Kaplan Postdoctoral Fellow in Christian-Jewish Relations effective September 1, 2025. This is a joint appointment with the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies (ATCJS) at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Zuckier’s PhD thesis entitled, “Flesh and Blood: The Reception of Biblical Sacrifice in Selected Talmudic Sources in Comparative Context,” was awarded by Yale University in 2020. He brings with him rich academic experiences having held research fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton; University of Notre Dame; and McGill University. Dr. Zuckier has an impressive scholarly publication record in aspects of both Ancient and Modern Judaism and Jewish-Christian relations.
As the Igor Kaplan Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Zuckier will be part of both the ATCSJ and the TST communities, as well as the wider University of Toronto community. Dr. Zuckier’s office will be located at TST’s member college, Regis St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology. We look forward to welcoming Dr. Zuckier to Toronto in the Fall.
