Join Emmanuel College for the opening ceremony of the Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society Research & Education Centre for Buddhist Spiritual Care and Counselling (TLKYCS Centre), a new centre dedicated to advancing Buddhist spiritual care, counselling, psycho spiritual studies and chaplaincy education through academic scholarship, professional formation, interfaith dialogue and community engagement.
This special occasion marks the beginning of a new chapter in Buddhist spiritual care and counselling education, creating opportunities for research, professional development and collaboration across Buddhist, interfaith and multifaith communities.
The ceremony will include a plaque unveiling, a special guest lecture exploring the Forty-Nine Day Ritual (Sasipgujae), a Korean Buddhist postmortem rite featuring beompae, a Korean Buddhist chant, and a tour of Victoria University’s Indigenous Healing Garden.
