This lecture is one of a series of patristic talks organized by the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Theology at St. Augustine’s Seminary.
Formulating the axiom lex orandi, lex credendi, Prosper of Aquitaine, a follower of St. Augustine of Hippo, contributed to the early Church’s understanding of how a community’s liturgical practices shape and reflect their beliefs. Monsignor Feichtinger will investigate how much is entailed in this poignant formulation, how Prosper himself explains the axiom, and how we should look at the axiom today.
The talk will be followed by fellowship and light refreshments.
Virtual attendance is also available.
This talk is FREE but registration is required. Capacity is limited and attendance is by registration only.
Speaker: Msgr. Hans Feichtinger is a pastor of two parishes in Ottawa and teaches Patristic Theology and Ancient Philosophy at St. Augustine’s Seminary.
