Anne Anderson CSJ, received a Distinguished Service Award at the biennial meetings of the Association of Theology Schools (ATS) in the United States and Canada. ATS is the Toronto School of Theology's accrediting body and celebrated its 100th year during the meetings. The Distinguished Service Award is a recognition of those in the Association who have given tremendous service to ATS and to theological education.

The Toronto School of Theology is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Colleen Shantz as Director of TST's Graduate Centre for Theological Studies, effective July 1. Colleen teaches Christian Origins and Biblical Studies in the Faculty of Theology at the University of St. Michael’s College. She is also cross-appointed to the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto. 

Accomplished academic, scholar and author Michelle Voss Roberts has been appointed by Victoria University’s Board of Regents to be the 13th Principal of Emmanuel College, one of the Toronto School of Theology's seven member colleges. The Principal oversees all aspects of Emmanuel College, the largest theological college associated with the United Church of Canada and a founding member of the Toronto School of Theology. Professor Voss Roberts, who will be the College’s first female Principal, begins her appointment on July 1, 2018. 

“Michelle was the search committee’s unanimous choice,” says Victoria University President William Robins. “She brings to Emmanuel her deep understanding of the role of theological education in the twenty-first century, as well as her commitment to building communities of dialogue across different religious traditions.”

Congratulations to Professor Tom Reynolds of Emmanuel College, who is the 2018 recipient of the Roy M. Davidson Trust Award. Conferred by the Board of the United Church of Canada Foundation, the award recognizes excellence in teaching and scholarship in theological education.

The Toronto School of Theology's own Toronto Journal of Theology has been recognized with the Scholarly and Research Communication Innovation Award for Social Science and Humanities Journals. Congratulations to the Journal's Editor, Professor Abrahim Khan (Trinity College, Faculty of Divinity).

The Journal is published bi-annually by the University of Toronto Press Inc. for the Toronto School of Theology. The Journal provides a Canadian forum for discussing theological issues in cross-cultural perspectives, featuring pertinent articles, in-depth reviews and information on the latest publications in the field.
