The Faculty of Theology, USMC is a founding and continuing member of the largest ecumenical consortium for theological education in Canada – The Toronto School of Theology. In searching for a Dean, we are seeking an outstanding academic administrator who has a demonstrated track record of collegial leadership and scholarly accomplishment. A theologian, with graduate teaching experience, who has been actively involved in the academy, as an established and continuing researcher is desired.
The successful candidate will be an energetic leader, who appreciates the value of team work and the role of interdisciplinary, committed to the development and evolution of the Faculty of Theology within the Toronto School of Theology and the University of Toronto. Experience in alumni and development initiatives would be of benefit. Experience within a unionized environment would also be an asset. In addition to the responsibilities of Chief Academic Officer of the Faculty, s/he will serve as a member of the senior executive team of the University of St. Michael’s College.
The University of St. Michael’s College was founded by the Congregation of St. Basil in 1852 and federated with the University of Toronto in 1881. As a Graduate Faculty, the Faculty of Theology offers a full range of academic and professional programs most of which are offered conjointly with the University of Toronto.
The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2015, however an earlier start date is possible. The Review of Applications will begin November 1, 2014.
