2008 Summer Course Registration Information

Registration instructions for Summer 2008 courses.

TST students seek approval for summer courses in consultation with their advisor at their home college. Summer course registration begins on April 1, 2008 using the ROSI website. A maximum of 4 courses may be taken during the Summer Session (20085), including field education and reading courses.

Visiting students should contact the college offering the course in which they wish to enrol as early as possible for registration instructions. (See Key to Course Designations and Related Information to determine which college is offering the course.) Please see below for a contact list for our colleges.

TST students wishing to take courses at affiliated institutions should seek their colleges’ permission to take courses outside of TST. Once permission is granted, students should contact the affiliated institution offering the course to register. Please refer to Registration and Payment Processes for Affiliate Related Activities for details (see below). Students wishing to take units offered through TIPE should apply and pay fees through TIPE (see www.tipe.ca).

Students from TST Affiliates (i.e. Conrad Grebel, Institute for Christian Studies or Waterloo Lutheran) should obtain a letter of permission from their home institution as early as possible to take courses at TST. This should be presented to the TST Registrar. Please refer to Registration and Payment Processes for Affiliate Related Activities for details (see below).

Reading & Research Course Registrations should be submitted before June 9, 2008.

Fees Payment

Academic and incidental fees are assessed by the ROSI system and invoices will be mailed to students in May. Students may also obtain a printed invoice at any time (in June through August) from the University of Toronto Students’ Accounts Office at 215 Huron St. and from some colleges’ accounts offices. Student’s account status may also be viewed on the ROSI web system (beginning in late May through August). Fee payment information may also be found at: www.fees.utoronto.ca.

N.B.: Additional fees beyond those charged on the ROSI system may be levied by a student’s college. Students are encouraged to add courses early and pay fees promptly even for courses occurring late in the summer. Summer fees may be found at the University of Toronto Student Accounts website at: www.fees.utoronto.ca.

Fees Refunds and Course Withdrawals

In summer of 2008, the last day to withdraw from a course without academic penalty is also the last day in which to receive a 100% academic fees refund in a course. Following this date, a 0% academic fees refund becomes available. The last day to withdraw from a given course in the summer session is given in the course description. Please contact the College offering the course for withdrawal/ refund information.

Incidental fees (e.g. student services such as Athletic Centre, Hart House, etc.) refunds have a fixed refund schedule which does NOT coincide with the academic fees refund schedule as these fees cover services which are available to students throughout the summer session.

Registration and Payment Processes for Affiliate Related Activities

Students enroll in 'affiliate' cross-listed courses offered in the regular session by using the SWS on ROSI. During regular session, by agreement between TST and the following institutions, students enrolling in courses at the Institute for Christian Studies and Conrad Grebel and Waterloo Lutheran pay the course fee to their home institution. If you are an advanced degree student this fee is included in your regular program fee. Students are reminded that when registering for a course at an affiliated college, they must contact the registrar of that college to register, in addition to registering on SWS.

The following table outlines the course registration and payment processes for the summer and regular (fall or winter) sessions.
