Doctor of Ministry (DMin)

The Doctor of Ministry is a conjoint degree with the University of Toronto. The program provides the opportunity to develop a comprehensive and critical understanding of ministry in which theory and practice inform and enhance one other. It is designed to assist students in gaining advanced expertise in the general practice of ministry as well as advanced skill in specialized area of research particular to their ministry.

Conjoint Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theological Studies - NEW

The Toronto School of Theology (TST) is pleased to announce the opening of a new conjoint PhD in Theological Studies, which will welcome its first cohort of students in the 2015-2016 academic year.

The new PhD is being offered by the six TST member colleges and administered by TST’s Graduate Centre for Theological Studies. The term "conjoint" means that the degree will be conferred conjointly by the University of Toronto and a TST Member College.

Doctor of Theology (ThD)

The conjoint Doctor of Theology (ThD) is no longer open to admissions. It has been replaced by a new conjoint PhD in Theological Studies. TST is strongly committed to supporting all currently registered ThD students to the completion of their programs.

Master of Arts (MA)

This program is designed to foster graduate-level competence in several basic areas of theological study, and to provide the opportunity for more advanced work in areas of particular interest to the student. It prepares the student for admission to a doctoral program.

An MA student may complete the degree program entirely on a part-time basis. The minimum time required to complete the program is two years, the maximum allowed is six years and consists of twelve courses. A thesis of at least 12,500 words is also required.

Master of Theology (ThM)

This program is designed to deepen students' knowledge of theology and further their preparation for doctoral study or pastoral ministry. To accomplish this, two options for the ThM program are offered:
