TST students have access to all University of Toronto libraries as well as to a variety of special collections and related archives.
Students registered in the Toronto School of Theology have graduate student privileges in the University of Toronto Library (UTL) which affords them use of the main University Library and other libraries in the Toronto system, including six libraries associated with the TST member schools. Theology students have at their disposal the third largest academic library in North America. In addition to the millions of holdings, the University of Toronto library system provides access to thousands of full-text electronic journals, and hundreds of indices, abstracts and online newspapers.
TST membership provides stack access and borrowing privileges for the circulating collections in these libraries, and access to special collections which may be consulted within these libraries.
The TST colleges maintain their own libraries, which complement other University of Toronto Libraries to which TST students also have full access. Our holdings are available to all members of the University, and for in-library use to members of the general public. TST library holdings are included in the online catalogue of the University of Toronto Libraries.
Since January 1974, the TST libraries have had a cooperative policy with the University of Toronto Library for purchasing theological books. These books are housed in the Robarts Library, the main humanities and social science collection at U of T.
Note: Robarts Library is also the central humanities and social science library at the University of Toronto. There is a common online catalogue for Robarts, the TST libraries, and more than 30 other libraries at the University of Toronto.
Note: Information provided in the listings below is subject to change. The hours provided for TST libraries are those normally used during regular session classes and may change during holidays, summer session, and exam times. Please consult the web links provided or call to confirm information subject to frequent changes.
