This is a foundational course in theological exegesis. It explores the implications of reading Scripture as Word of God, as witness to the gospel, and as dramatic 'script' for the church's mission. It poses the fundamental question "what does it mean to read a text?" in particular contexts of interpretation. As a text case, we will spend several weeks engaged in close reading of the Gospel of John.
