Description: 

The examination of Paul's letter to the Galatians through the lens of how it has been interpreted throughout history. This course will (i) give students an opportunity to read and critically reflect on the text of Galatians; (ii) expose students to a selection of interpretations that have been given to Galatians throughout the history of its interpretation; and (iii) expose students to a variety of interpretive strategies for engaging the biblical text in pastoral pratice. Teaching methods include lectures, assigned readings, class discussion, and student presentations of readings. Evaluation based on class participation, a one-page advance preparation paper, a short reflection paper, and final paper.
