A detailed description of each of TST's seven member and three affiliate theological schools along with maps and location information.
The proximity of the seven member schools on the University of Toronto St. George campus makes possible the effective sharing of their resources. TST Member Schools
The Toronto School of Theology administers the advanced degree programs and coordinates the basic degree programs of the seven member institutions listed here, and has various relationships with a number of other institutions.
Emmanuel College (United Church of Canada)
Emmanuel College,
United Church of Canada
Toronto's Emmanuel College bears its name in historic resonance with John Wesley's reported last words, "The best of all is, God is with us." Situated at the centre of a vibrant multi-cultural city, Emmanuel is a theological college of The United Church of Canada and an integral part of Victoria University, one of three church-related federated universities of the University of Toronto.
Emmanuel traditionally has been the educator of the majority of the ordained ministers of the United Church and it continues to make its Master of Divinity program a major focus of teaching and learning activity. However, many of its basic degree students are preparing for other callings and choose to register in its Master of Pastoral Studies, Master of Theological Studies and Master of Religious Education programs. A program of custom-designed, occasional study also provides for a Lay Certificate in theology. Emmanuel celebrates diversity of interest and background, and students of several Christian denominations and of other faith groups find Emmanuel a welcoming setting for theological education.
