The Toronto School of Theology was saddened to hear of the passing of the Reverend Canon Doctor Reginald Francis Stackhouse on December 14, 2016, at the age of 91. Dr. Stackhouse served as the Principal of Wycliffe College, a TST member school, from 1975 to 1986. Dr. Stackhouse was serving as a professor when the Toronto School of Theology was founded in 1969, and passionately supported its ecumenical vision. Later, as principal of Wycliffe College, he gave leadership in the discussions (1974 to 1978) among TST, the University of Toronto, and the provincial government leading to our arrangement for conjoint theological degrees. Some say that he was the first to conceive of the idea of conjoint degrees, awarded by both the University and a TST college. Read more here.
