It was recently announced that Marcus Shantz will serve as Conrad Grebel University College’s eighth president, taking office October 1, 2017. Conrad Grebel University College is one of TST's three affiliated member institutions.
The Conrad Grebel Board of Governors, in making this announcement, cited Shantz’s outstanding leadership skills, his significant contributions to local business and arts organizations, his engagement in the local and global church, and his first-hand knowledge of Grebel and its stakeholders. The board highlighted his understanding, respect, and support for higher education, as well as his creativity and integrity.
Conrad Grebel University College is located on the campus of, and is affiliated with, the University of Waterloo. The mission of Grebel’s Theological Studies program is to educate, equip and form students through biblical, theological, historical and pastoral study of Christianity, in an Anabaptist-Mennonite and ecumenical context, for service to church and society.
The Masters of Theological Studies degree is awarded conjointly by the University of Waterloo and Conrad Grebel University College. Grebel also administers the Toronto Mennonite Theological Centre, located in the TST building, on behalf of several Canadian and United States Mennonite institutional partners.
